I still remember the first time I bought Bitcoin. It was the summer of 2017 and I had just heard of Bitcoin.

At that time price was still under $3000. Even while writing this, I must admit that the fact that Bitcoin was once less than $3000 is pretty crazy to think about.

Especially given the fact that it just tapped $100,000 a few weeks ago.

Anyway, I had an extra $50 in my pocket. I went on localbitcoins (the oldschool P2P way of buying Bitcoin) and I bought my first official bitcoin.

Obviously, it wasn’t a whole Bitcoin. But it was the first time I was buying Bitcoin.

This marked the start of my 8-year-long journey in the cryptocurrency markets.

Since then, I’ve watched my portfolio make some insane gains.

There were moments where I made 40x and even 73x (my personal best) on a token. Then there were also moments where I lost over 60% of my portfolio.

I’ll be honest: my first cycle ended in a net loss.
