The next new thing happening in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) ecosystem is the Google Gemini 1.5 model.

Google Gemini 1.5 Comes With Upgraded Capabilities

In a note released by Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, it was reported that the company is preparing for the debut of a new version of the AI tool that was launched a few days ago. Notably, Google Gemini 1.5 is a significant upgrade from Google 1.0 Ultra. It includes dramatic improvements across many dimensions including quality when compared to Gemini 1.0 Ultra.

“This is an exciting time for AI. New advances in the field have the potential to make AI more helpful for billions of people over the coming years. Since introducing Gemini 1.0, we’ve been testing, refining, and enhancing its capabilities,” Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google DeepMind stated on behalf of the Gemini team.

Google Gemini 1.5 also allows users to complete a wide range of tasks while using less computing. The new generation AI tool tackles the challenge of long-context understanding as the firm has been able to effectively increase the volume of information that Google Gemini can process. Precisely, the models can run as much as 1 million tokens consistently.

With this improvement, Google Gemini becomes one of the AI models that can efficiently achieve the longest context window. The team is still working on training the model including the addition of a new Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) architecture. For now, it is open for testing for some developers and enterprise customers, and they can begin to try the 1 million context window.

AI War Gradually Heating Up

Generally, the AI ecosystem is expanding gradually and the products are becoming more diversified. Coingape reported that Sam Altman’s OpenAI hit a $2 billion valuation last week, following the success recorded in the embrace of its ChatGPT models. The firm is already looking to double its revenue figure by next year.

Similarly, NVIDIA, which recently ranked as the 4th largest United States company, launched a new ChatGPT killer dubbed Chat with RTX. The AI tool is designed to allow GeForce RTX 30 Series and 40 Series card owners to run AI-powered chatbots while offline on a Windows PC.

As all of these AI-focused companies are expanding their offerings and hitting new milestones, the competition between them is intensifying gradually.
