Consulting giant Accenture and AI lab Anthropic announced a major expansion of their working relationship on December 9, 2025, forming the Accenture Anthropic Business Group and committing $1 billion over five years to develop enterprise AI solutions built around Claude.
The centerpiece of the new arrangement is the dedicated Accenture Anthropic Business Group, a practice inside Accenture focused entirely on deploying Claude models for enterprise clients. Accenture plans to train approximately 30,000 of its employees on Claude, and tens of thousands of developers will gain access to Claude Code tools as part of the rollout.
The industries in the crosshairs here are financial services, healthcare, life sciences, and the public sector. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has proposed new methods for incorporating independent third-party evaluators into AI model assessment, embedding safety and alignment checks rather than treating them as an afterthought.
Accenture is also one of Anthropic’s largest enterprise customers already. The earlier collaboration dates to May 2025, and this December announcement represents a significant deepening of that relationship.
Anthropic’s enterprise momentum
The company holds a 40% enterprise market share overall, with a particularly strong 54% share specifically in coding as of late 2025. Claude Code, which gives developers AI assistance directly within their workflows, is central to that strategy. Giving tens of thousands of Accenture developers access to the tool is a meaningful distribution play for Anthropic, embedding Claude into projects that will ultimately serve Accenture’s massive client base across dozens of industries.
Accenture has a parallel partnership with OpenAI, which means the consulting firm is hedging its bets across the two most prominent AI labs.
