Binance leads July 2026 exchange traffic with 36M visits as overall numbers slip

Binance pulled in 36.04 million website visits in July 2026, claiming a 26.8% share of total crypto exchange traffic. That’s a comfortable lead over every competitor, but the broader picture tells a less rosy story: total visits across tracked exchanges slid 2.35% month-over-month to roughly 134.31 million, down from 137.54 million in June.

The data, compiled by Wu Blockchain using SimilarWeb analytics, paints a portrait of an industry where the big keep getting bigger and the rest fight over a shrinking pie.

The big three tighten their grip

OKX came in second with 25.62 million visits, good for a 19.1% market share. Coinbase rounded out the podium at 20.60 million visits, holding 15.3% of the total.

Add those up and the top three exchanges accounted for 61.2% of all tracked traffic.

The geographical breakdown reveals how differently these platforms have built their user bases. India was the largest source of visitors to Binance. Japan drove the most traffic to OKX. And Coinbase, unsurprisingly, drew its heaviest traffic from the United States.

Binance’s strength in India helps explain why the exchange reportedly surpassed 323 million registered users around its ninth anniversary in July.

Winners and losers below the top tier

Not every mid-tier exchange suffered in July. Bitfinex saw its traffic rise 3.7%, KuCoin gained 3.2%, and Bybit ticked up 2.8%.

The losing side of the ledger was far more dramatic. Deribit’s traffic cratered 44.7%, a decline steep enough to suggest something structural rather than seasonal. HTX dropped 23.0%, and Upbit fell 16.0%.

What the traffic dip actually signals

The 2.35% overall decline in July aligns with a broader cooldown in trading activity. Spot trading volumes across exchanges fell 21.7% during the same period, landing at $429 billion.

The 134.31 million total visits figure also deserves some perspective relative to Binance’s registered user count. If the exchange truly has 323 million registered accounts, then 36 million monthly web visits means roughly 11% of registered users bothered to open the website in July.
