Bitwise Solana ETF Hits $1 Billion – Here Is What Is Driving Demand

  • Bitwise’s Solana Staking ETF has surpassed $1 billion in assets under management exactly 10 months after its launch.
  • Spot Solana ETFs have generated about $1.7 billion in cumulative inflows and more than $13 billion in trading volume despite a difficult crypto market.
  • Institutional access to Solana continues expanding, with Charles Schwab preparing to offer spot SOL trading and Goldman Sachs holding nearly $90 million in Solana ETFs.

Bitwise’s Solana Staking ETF has crossed $1 billion in assets under management just 10 months after launching, reaching the milestone despite a difficult year for crypto markets.

Bitwise said much of the capital entered during a bear market, describing the inflows as a strong indication of investor conviction in Solana.

The milestone is notable given the performance of both the fund and its underlying asset. Bitwise President Teddy Fusaro said BSOL shares remain roughly 40% below their listing price, while SOL is still about 60% below its all-time high.

Solana ETFs Keep Attracting Capital

Demand has remained relatively resilient despite those losses.

Spot Solana ETFs have generated more than $13 billion in cumulative trading volume since launching in September 2025, according to The Block.

Bloomberg Senior ETF Analyst Eric Balchunas said the category has attracted approximately $1.7 billion in cumulative flows with virtually no extended period of significant outflows, despite the sharp downturn during the first half of the year.

That trend suggests investors have continued building exposure even as Solana traded well below its previous highs.

Solana Rebounds With the Crypto Market

The $1 billion milestone arrives as cryptocurrency markets recover from their earlier decline.

Bitcoin has rallied toward $80,000, while Solana has gained nearly 45% over the past month.

The recovery has helped revive interest across digital assets, but continued ETF inflows during weaker market conditions suggest institutional demand for SOL was developing before the latest rebound.

Bitwise said it expects capital markets to continue moving onchain, with Solana positioned to play a role in that transition.

Institutional Access to Solana Expands

Traditional financial firms are also making Solana increasingly accessible.

Charles Schwab announced this week that it plans to introduce direct spot SOL trading in the coming months alongside Avalanche and Chainlink. The brokerage already offers Bitcoin and Ethereum through Schwab Crypto.

Goldman Sachs has also emerged as the largest known holder of spot Solana ETFs, with nearly $90 million invested.

Bloomberg Intelligence analyst James Seyffart said investment advisors were significant buyers during the second quarter, while hedge funds were net sellers.

With BSOL now above $1 billion in assets and broader institutional access continuing to expand, Solana is gaining a larger presence within traditional investment markets despite remaining well below its previous price peak.
