Brentford have agreed to sign Jaidon Anthony from Burnley for an initial fee of £15 million, with add-ons that could push the total package to £17 million. The deal, which includes a four-year contract, marks one of the more significant Premier League moves of the early summer window.
The deal breakdown
Anthony, who turned 26 last December, arrives at Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium after establishing himself as a reliable contributor at the top level of English football. He’s logged 70 Premier League appearances and scored 11 goals across his career.
Transfer negotiations between the two clubs began in late June 2026, with Brentford quickly emerging as frontrunners after submitting multiple bids. Other clubs were reportedly interested, but Brentford’s persistence and willingness to meet Burnley’s valuation gave them the edge.
Anthony’s medical was scheduled for early in the week of July 5-6, 2026. While some reports have floated the possibility of a five-year contract rather than four, the core financial terms appear settled.
Anthony’s age profile also matters. At 26, he’s entering what sports scientists consider the prime performance window for professional footballers, roughly ages 26 to 30. A four-year contract would cover almost that entire window.
