Cardano will launch the Musashi Dojo Testnet at the end of June as part of a multi-phase testing program designed to prepare its upcoming Ouroboros Leios scaling upgrade for mainnet deployment targeted for the end of 2026, Carlos López de Lara, a product manager at Input Output, said in an interview on BLOCK//45.
BLOCK//45 is a new editorial series created to serve as a dedicated media platform for the Cardano ecosystem. The YouTube-based show premiered on Monday by Input Output Global (IO), the company that researched and built Cardano, and will be hosted by members of the Cardano community.
The debut episode of BLOCK//45 focuses on Leios, Cardano’s planned scaling upgrade designed to increase the network’s transaction capacity. According to Carlos, Leios is an overlay protocol that works alongside Praos, introducing larger endorser blocks during periods of high demand while maintaining the security model of the existing blockchain.
Carlos said that Leios is a key component of Cardano’s long-term roadmap and will support the network’s growth while helping sustain the ecosystem as treasury resources diminish over time.
The testnet will run through five structured stages, including Earth, Water, Fire, Wind and Void, spanning protocol validation, parameter tuning, real-world performance testing and adversarial stress scenarios.
Developers and stake pool operators are being encouraged to participate early to help refine the system under live network conditions and prepare applications for higher throughput.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
