Chirp, a DePIN project built on the famous Sui blockchain, is launching the play-to-earn (P2E) game “Kage”.
It is a gaming product similar to the famous “Pokémon Go,” where users are encouraged to scan their geolocated environment and collect digital items.
Up for grabs are prizes in CHIRP tokens, which will soon become an integral part of the decentralized ecosystem of the same name.
Given and considering the current trend of strength of the SUI network, this game could register a strong flow of users at its debut.
Let’s see all the details below.
Gaming and DePIN: Chirp launches the game “Kage” on the Sui network
The decentralized physical infrastructure project (DePIN) Chirp has introduced a new game within the crypto space of the Sui chain.
The game in question is called “Kage” and is inspired by Pokémon Go, a famous free-to-play video game based on augmented reality and GPS geolocation.
We are talking about a mobile product, which will be available soon to Android users, integrated with blockchain technology.
Kage requires players to physically detect wireless networks such as WiFi, Bluetooth, and cellular towers with their smartphones in exchange for a reward in tokens.
Every smartphone becomes a sort of cryptocurrency miner, where for an infrastructural commitment one is economically rewarded by the network.
The CHIRP token, whose TGE has yet to be announced, will be a fundamental part of this incentive as it is the resource used for payments.
Very important to emphasize that, unlike other play-to-earn games, Kage has a very specific purpose in the real world.
The data collected by the players will indeed form a global distributed database available to the community, which will be used to fuel new geolocated mapping solutions.
The Chirp ecosystem also offers extensive IoT services to Real World Asset (RWA) projects, with geolocation being an important component.
The Sui blockchain will be the home of this revolution in the gaming industry, connecting real-world users with encrypted data.
Already now, by playing Kage, users earn points that will be converted into CHIRP coins at the time of the official launch. You can register here by installing the game on Android and connecting your private Sui wallet.
A game similar to Pokemon Go but more transparent and democratic
As mentioned, the Kage game in some ways resembles the style of Pokémon Go, but at the same time it features a more transparent and democratic operation
Unlike Pokémon Go, in fact, the new game of the Sui ecosystem clearly explains how the data collected from users is used.
While the Nintendo product “clandestinely” manages virtual resources, Chirp’s aims to create a movement of global connectivity.
Users are also more incentivized compared to the first as there are economic prizes in tokens at stake.
The gameplay is simple and intuitive. The more wireless signals the players detect, the more “Data Chips ” they collect and the more CHIRP tokens they earn as a reward.
It is not just a game, but an initiative that helps build a decentralized ecosystem where the value is in the hands of the people.
Very interesting to highlight that Kage will also have a treasure hunt called “Wings of Chronos“, where participating players can search for physical items equipped with Bluetooth beacons. In the future, the same users will collect NFTs called “Feathers” to unlock additional in-game rewards and benefits.
This DePIN campaign was initially launched in Europe but the expansion worldwide has already been planned.
Regarding the inauguration of the game on the Sui blockchain, Tim Kravchunovsky, CEO and founder of Chirp, states the following at the press conference:
“Contrary to large companies like Google, which collect data without giving anything back, we are – for the first time – enabling people to benefit from the collection of geolocation data while contributing to a better global wireless network. The data players collected are in high demand in many sectors, such as logistics, retail, and urban development.”
The success of the SUI blockchain: TVL at all-time highs
The new Kage game could register a strong success at its debut given the current success of the Sui cryptographic ecosystem.
Since its debut in May 2023, this blockchain has attracted as much as 1.6 billion dollars in locked capital, becoming the eighth chain for TVL (DefiLlama data).
At this moment, the on-chain activity on Sui is at an all-time high, both in terms of “Total Value Locked” and traded volumes.
Its wide scalability and versatile structure have attracted a huge number of users in just 1 and a half years of existence.
Furthermore, the various opportunities within Sui, such as play-to-earn games and memecoin, make this ecosystem even more appealing than it already is.
Also SUI, governance and gas token of the homonymous blockchain, is contributing to the popularity of the platform.
In one year the currency has grown by 410%, going from 0.60 dollars to the current 3.35 dollars.
From August 2024 onwards, it literally exploded upwards, offering better performance even than the king Bitcoin.
It is likely that if the Sui ecosystem continues to churn out intriguing innovations like games for users, the token will continue its bull phase even in 2025.
It will be interesting to see if with the launch of the Kage game there will be an increase in network activities and a greater demand for the SUI cryptocurrency.
