Decrypt has officially integrated on-chain prediction markets platform MYRIAD into its site, with readers now able to make predictions on embedded markets directly within Decrypt stories.
Launched by Decrypt’s parent company DASTAN, MYRIAD is the evolution of Decrypt and Rug Radio’s interconnected media ecosystem, integrating on-chain prediction markets into news stories and creator content.
From today, users will be able to interact with MYRIAD prediction markets directly on Decrypt without having to download the MYRIAD browser extension.
“The goal is to have markets that are very relevant to the Decrypt article, enhancing the reader experience,” said DASTAN co-founder and COO Ilan Hazan. The launch of fully integrated prediction markets on Decrypt represents a “first step towards completely rethinking the business model for media,” he added.
A “reciprocal environment” for readers
Speaking at Consensus 2025 in February, DASTAN co-founder and President Farokh Sarmad explained that MYRIAD’s dynamic participatory model realigns incentives in the media ecosystem, “from the bottom back up.” Historically, he said, “the person who's gotten the least amount of value from media is the reader, and it should start from there. It's supposed to be top down.”
With the launch of USDC markets on MYRIAD earlier this month, its ecosystem rewards users for making accurate predictions, and provides a new revenue stream for publishers and creators.
At Consensus, DASTAN CEO Loxley Fernandes explained that the platform creates a “reciprocal environment,” incentivizing readers to “participate in the creation of the news cycle and help us find sources of truth.”
“The goal for Decrypt since we created it has been to go beyond covering the crypto and Web3 space, and actually integrate the technology into our offering,” Hazan said. He added that, “We're really proud to be leading the way in transitioning away from extractive business models, towards one where the value in the system will be evenly distributed among advertisers, publishers and creators.”
