Dogecoin (DOGE) climbed 10% over the past 24 hours. The move came alongside gains across other older memecoins.

Pepe (PEPE) posted the largest gain in the group at 19%. Shiba Inu (SHIB) matched Dogecoin’s 10% increase.

These three tokens often set the tone for the wider memecoin sector. This time, the sector’s total market cap grew by more than 5.37%.

Total trading volume across memecoins also rose. It climbed 189% to about $4.14 billion.

Part of Dogecoin’s rally came from broader market conditions. The U.S. Treasury doubled its long-term bond buyback program this week.

That move added liquidity to the market. It also weakened the pull of the U.S. dollar, which helped push DOGE higher as a base asset.

Key Drivers Behind the Price Move

Dogecoin’s daily trading volume jumped 3.5x to around $1.28 billion. That single day of trading equaled more than half of the token’s entire weekly volume.

DOGE also gained access to the Paxos network this week. Paxos powers payment features inside PayPal and Venmo.

This gives Dogecoin more exposure to payment tools already used by millions of people. It could help drive future trading activity.

Not all signals point to institutional interest, though. DOGE Spot ETFs have stayed quiet since a $564,000 net outflow on August 13.

That suggests most of this rally is being driven by retail and speculative traders rather than large institutions.

What the Charts Show

On the charts, Dogecoin broke a major trendline it had held since May. It also cleared a 4-hour trendline resistance level, including its original starting point.

A bullish moving average cross also formed as buying continued. The Cumulative Volume Delta showed more than 132 million DOGE bought in a single 4-hour session.

Funding rates have stayed positive since August 5. This means traders holding long positions have been paying a premium to keep them open.

Dogecoin is now trading above the $0.0750 level, an area where it had previously struggled. The token still needs to clear its next supply zone to confirm further upside.
