EthCC (Ethereum Community Conference), the largest annual European Ethereum conference created for the community, by the community, will return for EthCC[7] from 8-11 July 2024 in Brussels, Belgium, and bring together the top minds in Ethereum to share their vision for the future of the ecosystem.
“EthCC is back for its seventh edition, this time shifting locations from Paris to Brussels for a change of scenery. With a new location comes a bigger venue, allowing EthCC to accommodate more people. Since EthCC[6], we’ve witnessed significant strides in the crypto space, including milestones like the approval of Bitcoin ETFs in the US, the successful execution of the Dencun Upgrade on Ethereum, promising scalability for Layer 2 solutions, and the MiCA regulation in Europe. It’s an exciting time to be in crypto! We look forward to bringing all these discussions together at EthCC[7] and hope to continue growing the industry together as a community,” said Jerome de Tychey, Founder and President of Ethereum France.
Brussels is the headquarters of the European Union (EU), playing a vital role in formulating the bloc’s digital assets strategy and blockchain initiatives. EthCC[7] presents an opportunity for the Ethereum community to convene within the political capital ahead of MiCA becoming law within the EU later this year. Concurrently, ETHCC[7] will be a stage to discuss the evolving global regulatory perspectives.
The recent approval of the first spot Bitcoin ETF in the US and Hong Kong’s approval of a spot Ethereum ETF highlight a significant shift in the regulatory landscape and underscore the increasing acceptance of digital assets in traditional financial markets
EthCC[7] will gather more than 300 speakers from all around the world with various talks, workshops, and side events to share and transmit knowledge to develop a positive and abundant Ethereum ecosystem. Key topics on the agenda include onboarding and account abstraction, interoperability, real-world assets (RWAs), the rise of L3s, and restaking.
Headline speakers include:
● Vitalik Buterin, founder of Ethereum
● Charles Jenson, Head of Decentralized Finance Transformation at S&P Global
● Paul Brody, Principal & Global Blockchain Leader, Ernst & Young
● Patrick Hansen, Director of Circle, the issuer of major stablecoin USDC
● Lily Liu, President of the Solana Foundation
● Jordi Baylina, Technical Lead at Polygon
● Anna Bertha, Investor at Digital Currency Group
“As we emerge from a challenging year, the Web3 ecosystem is poised for significant growth on multiple fronts. EthCC stands proudly within the Ethereum community and we are excited to return with bigger and better plans for this year. What began as a modest gathering has evolved into one of the largest ETH Conferences, highlighting our commitment to creating and sustaining strong community bonds. As we embark on our seventh edition, we extend a hearty welcome to both returning and new attendees, welcoming all to be a part of our vibrant community’s future,” said Bettina Boon Falleur, Head of EthCC.
EthCC[7] will also provide the opportunity for vetted startups to pitch in front of top VCs such as DFG, Curiosity Capital, Lyrik, BPI France, and Tioga Capital through the EthVC programme.
