Galatasaray has sealed the signing of Aleksey Batrakov from Lokomotiv Moscow in a deal worth a guaranteed €25 million, with performance-related add-ons that could push the total package to roughly €30 million. The 21-year-old Russian attacking midfielder is expected in Istanbul shortly for a medical and to finalize personal terms on a four-year contract.

Paris Saint-Germain was reportedly among the clubs monitoring Batrakov before Galatasaray closed the deal.

Breaking down the deal

The base fee of €25 million will be paid to Lokomotiv Moscow in installments spread over two years. On top of that, up to €4 million in performance bonuses could kick in depending on how Batrakov fares in Istanbul.

Lokomotiv also negotiated a 10% sell-on clause, meaning the Russian club would receive a cut of any future transfer fee if Galatasaray eventually sells the player.

Batrakov’s expected salary at Galatasaray sits around €3.5 million per year guaranteed, with additional performance bonuses possible.

Batrakov could make his debut as early as August 21, 2026, when Galatasaray hosts Erzurumspor in a Süper Lig fixture.

Who is Aleksey Batrakov?

Born on June 9, 2005, Batrakov is a 173-centimeter attacking midfielder who wore the iconic #10 shirt at Lokomotiv Moscow. He still had three years remaining on his contract with the Russian club, which runs through June 2029, giving Lokomotiv meaningful leverage in negotiations.

His market value across various platforms has been estimated between €25 million and €28 million, suggesting Galatasaray paid roughly fair value rather than a premium on the base fee.

He posted double-digit goal involvements during recent seasons at Lokomotiv, a stat line that stands out for a player who only turned 21 this summer. He is also a Russian international.
