GX substitutes JesseVALORANT for Musz3kk in VCT EMEA debut

58 minutes ago 13

GIANTX signed musz3kk less than a week ago. He’s already being replaced, at least temporarily, as JesseVALORANT steps in for the organization’s VCT EMEA Stage 2 opener on July 16.

The match? Against FNATIC, one of the most decorated teams in competitive Valorant. Not exactly a soft landing for a stand-in debut.

What happened and why it matters

GIANTX, the Spanish esports organization commonly referred to as GX, confirmed the addition of JesseVALORANT (known simply as Jesse) to its active roster on July 14. His role is explicitly that of a stand-in for musz3kk, the 21-year-old Turkish player who was signed just four days earlier on July 10 as part of GX’s finalized Stage 2 lineup.

No official explanation has been provided by either GX or Riot Games regarding why musz3kk is unavailable or how long Jesse will fill the spot. The expectation, based on the nature of the announcement, is that musz3kk will return to the active roster in the near future.

The VCT EMEA Stage 2 group stage kicks off on July 16, and GX’s opening match against FNATIC is one of the marquee fixtures on the schedule.

GX’s roster evolution and competitive history

GIANTX has been a fixture in the VCT EMEA ecosystem, having reached playoffs in previous events while cycling through multiple roster iterations since at least 2025. The organization has participated in VCT events including the Kickoff, Stage 1, and the current Stage 2 in 2026, and has previously qualified for international events such as Champions.

The Stage 2 roster was supposed to represent a step toward stability. Adding musz3kk, who previously competed with FALKE Esports, brought in a young player with upside. The acquisition of neT as in-game leader signaled a strategic shift in how GX approaches its mid-round calling and tactical framework. Both moves were announced in quick succession during late June and early July.
