HIVE Digital Technologies just delivered the kind of earnings report that makes shareholders wince. The Bitcoin mining and AI computing company reported fiscal Q4 2026 revenue of $71.82 million, more than double the $31.16 million it pulled in during the same quarter a year earlier. But the company’s losses grew faster than its top line. The adjusted EPS loss came in at $0.28 per share, meaningfully worse than the $0.21 loss Wall Street had penciled in. Revenue missed consensus estimates by roughly 6-9%.
Full-year numbers tell the same story
HIVE reported total annual revenue of $297.8 million for fiscal year 2026, a 158% jump compared to the prior year. But the bottom line paints a different picture entirely. HIVE posted a net loss of $148.4 million for the full fiscal year. The full-year revenue figure also missed analyst consensus by about 6.7%.
For context, HIVE’s fiscal Q1 2026 results from a year ago actually looked pretty solid. The company beat revenue estimates with $45.6 million in sales and even managed to post positive net income. The deterioration since then has been notable, driven by a combination of rising operational costs and the inherent unpredictability of Bitcoin’s price swings.
The AI pivot is real but still small
HIVE has been positioning itself as more than just a Bitcoin miner. The company runs its operations on renewable energy, which gives it a cleaner environmental profile than many competitors. More importantly, it has been building out Buzz, its high-performance computing and AI subsidiary, as a second revenue engine. Buzz generated $19.5 million in revenue during fiscal year 2026, a small fraction of the company’s total $297.8 million top line.
HIVE is listed on both NASDAQ and the TSX, giving it access to both US and Canadian capital markets.
Investors will get their next data point on August 14, 2026, when HIVE releases its fiscal Q1 2027 results after market close. An earnings call is scheduled for August 17 at 8:00 a.m. EST.
