Injective partners with Microsoft to host onchain commerce event ahead of Token2049

Injective is bringing Microsoft along for the ride as it hosts an “onchain agentic commerce” event on October 6 in Singapore, timed to land one day before Token2049 kicks off. The event will spotlight Injective’s growing suite of tools designed to let autonomous AI agents trade, transact, and interact on its blockchain without human intervention.

The collaboration isn’t coming out of nowhere. Injective and Microsoft launched the Nova Program back in May 2026, a joint initiative pairing Azure’s enterprise AI infrastructure with Injective’s own agent tooling.

What the Nova Program actually does

The Nova Program targets developers building at the intersection of AI and blockchain, with a particular focus on Asia. Participants get access to Microsoft’s Azure AI services, Injective’s proprietary development tools, and financial backing that includes grants exceeding $10,000.

For projects that really stand out, the Injective Foundation is offering potential venture capital investments reaching up to $1 million. The program was first unveiled at the Hong Kong Web3 Festival earlier this year. Now the Token2049 side event serves as its next major public-facing moment.

Agentic commerce, explained

Injective has been building infrastructure specifically for this use case. Its platform now includes onchain identity capabilities through ERC-8004, a standard that gives AI agents verifiable identities on the blockchain. The blockchain also features efficient fee routing mechanisms designed for high-frequency agent trades, along with x402 micropayments tailored for agent-to-agent commerce.

Injective’s underlying architecture already supports a decentralized central limit order book for both spot and perpetual trading.

The bigger picture for Injective

The platform has processed over $6.8 billion in volume related to real-world assets as of mid-2026. In a move that separates it from most of its DeFi peers, Injective became an SEC-registered transfer agent in 2026. That designation allows it to maintain official records of securities ownership and handle transfers.

What to watch at Token2049 and beyond

Token2049 Singapore runs October 7-8, with side events spanning October 5-11. The October 6 agentic commerce event will likely serve as a demo day of sorts for projects built using the Nova Program’s resources, though the exact format hasn’t been disclosed.
