Legacy defeats FURIA to continue FISSURE run

Legacy just beat FURIA again. At this point, it’s starting to look less like an upset and more like a pattern.

The Brazilian CS2 team took down FURIA at FISSURE Playground #3 on September 10, 2026. For a team that didn’t exist three years ago, Legacy is making a habit of punching above its weight class, then staying there.

FISSURE and the road to get here

FISSURE Playground #3 carries a $1 million prize pool. Legacy entered the FURIA match already warmed up, having swept Alliance 2-0 the day before on September 9.

The win over FURIA is particularly noteworthy because of the roster sitting across the server. FURIA fields FalleN, one of the most decorated names in Brazilian Counter-Strike history, alongside YEKINDAR and KSCERATO.

Legacy, featuring arT and dumau, has now beaten FURIA in two high-profile events in quick succession. The first came at the Esports World Cup 2026 on August 23, where Legacy pulled off a 2-1 reverse-sweep to claim third place and $190,000 in prize money. They dropped the opening map on Ancient, then rattled off wins on Nuke and Dust2 to close it out.

From obscurity to world number eight

Legacy’s origin story reads like a speedrun. The organization was founded in August 2023 after the Brazilian division of 00 Nation split apart. They currently sit at approximately number eight in the world rankings.

At the Esports World Cup, Legacy’s semifinal run included two clean 2-0 victories over Natus Vincere and Falcons. The run ended in the semifinals with an 0-2 loss to Spirit, which kept Legacy out of the grand final.

The Brazilian CS2 rivalry deepens

Two wins over FURIA in less than three weeks tells a story. The EWC reverse-sweep could have been dismissed as a one-off. The FISSURE result makes that harder to argue.

Legacy’s arT is known for aggressive in-game leadership that creates chaos, and dumau has proven capable of winning the aim duels that decide close rounds.

The $190,000 Legacy earned at EWC was significant, but a deep run at FISSURE Playground #3, with its $1 million prize pool, could eclipse it.
