Lighter’s deployment on Robinhood Crypto Chain hits $10M TVL in first week

Lighter, the zero-knowledge rollup-powered decentralized exchange, has crossed $10.4 million in total value locked on Robinhood Chain barely a week after the Layer-2 network went live.

The broader Robinhood Chain ecosystem has surpassed $100 million in TVL within its first week of mainnet operations. Lighter is positioned as the default perpetual futures platform on the network.

How Robinhood built a DeFi on-ramp overnight

Robinhood Chain launched its mainnet on July 1-2, 2026, built as an Ethereum Layer-2 on top of Arbitrum.

Robinhood was a major backer in Lighter’s $68 million funding round in November 2025. Robinhood also committed approximately $11 million in LIT token incentives for users engaging with Lighter through Robinhood Wallet.

The LIT token has responded accordingly. Following the integration and related tokenomics updates, LIT’s price surged somewhere between 15% and 80%, depending on which window you’re measuring.

Tokenized stocks as collateral: the TradFi bridge

Lighter has expanded its collateral options beyond the initial focus on USDG stablecoins to include tokenized equities. We’re talking NVDA, GOOG, and AAPL stock tokens serving as collateral for perpetual futures positions.

What this means for investors

The $100 million TVL milestone for Robinhood Chain in week one is notable not because of the number itself, which is modest by DeFi standards, but because of where the capital is coming from. Robinhood’s user base skews toward retail investors who are comfortable with apps but may have never touched a MetaMask wallet.

Lighter’s $10.4 million TVL puts it in the early innings. Major perps DEXs on established chains routinely hold hundreds of millions or more in locked value. Going from zero to eight figures in a week, with a major brokerage actively funneling users and incentives your way, is a setup most protocols would trade their governance tokens for.

Lighter’s close financial ties to Robinhood create concentration risk. If Robinhood’s chain struggles to attract sustained activity beyond the incentive-driven launch phase, Lighter’s TVL could deflate just as quickly as it inflated.
