Liverpool holds talks with Paris Saint-Germain on Bradley Barcola transfer

Liverpool is deep in negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain over a potential deal for Bradley Barcola, the 23-year-old French forward who has emerged as the club’s top target to fill the void left by Mohamed Salah’s departure earlier this summer.

PSG is currently valuing the player between £130 million and £145 million, or roughly €130 million to €150 million. Liverpool hasn’t matched that number yet, but the gap between the two clubs appears to be shrinking, with reports indicating the Reds are preparing a final bid in the neighborhood of €140 million that could include performance-related add-ons.

A player who wants out

Barcola has been excluded from PSG’s recent matchday squads, missing games against both Rennes and Lens as transfer discussions have intensified.

The player himself has reportedly expressed a strong desire to make the move to Anfield. He’s said to have communicated that preference directly to Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola, which suggests the personal terms side of this equation isn’t the problem.

Barcola was originally signed by PSG from Lyon for a reported fee of €45 million on August 31, 2023, before contributing to PSG’s 2025 UEFA Champions League victory as part of a continental treble.

Liverpool’s reported willingness to structure the deal with performance-related add-ons is a classic compromise mechanism in transfers like these. Whether the gap between €140 million and PSG’s upper bound of €150 million can be bridged through such creative structuring remains the central question.
