Manchester City targets Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye in £80M deal with Jack Grealish twist

Manchester City wants Iliman Ndiaye, and Everton knows exactly what that’s worth. Reports have placed a £80 million valuation on the 26-year-old Senegal international, with City pushing to get a deal done before the August 31 transfer deadline.

The timing is no accident. City’s attack has thinned out considerably following the exits of Savinho and Omar Marmoush, leaving Pep Guardiola’s side shopping for goals in a hurry.

Why Ndiaye, and why now

Ndiaye joined Everton from Marseille in July 2024 for a reported €18M. Less than two years later, he’s being priced at roughly four and a half times that figure.

In the 2025-26 Premier League season, Ndiaye registered 6 goals and 3 assists across 32 to 34 appearances, establishing himself as one of Everton’s most reliable attacking outlets. He followed that up by providing an assist in Everton’s 2026-27 season opener against Crystal Palace.

Everton holds real leverage here. Ndiaye is under contract until June 2029, giving the club three years of coverage if they decide to dig in.

There’s a wrinkle though. Ndiaye has turned down multiple contract extension offers from Everton, which is the kind of signal that tends to shift a negotiation’s momentum.

The Grealish factor

The subplot here involves Jack Grealish, whose time at City appears to be winding down. Speculation has emerged around the possibility of Grealish moving to Everton as part of the broader arrangement, which would give Everton a marquee name while helping City manage the financial mechanics of a large outgoing transfer fee.

Grealish’s contract at City runs until the summer of 2027, so a move this window would require the club to negotiate a sale rather than wait for a free departure.

Everton manager David Moyes has made clear that Ndiaye is central to the club’s plans.

No official bid has been submitted, and informal talks are described as ongoing.
