Midnight’s NIGHT token has entered Japan through S.BLOX, a crypto exchange operated by a Sony Group company. The listing gives Japanese users direct access to the token through a domestic platform and marks NIGHT’s first listing on a Japanese crypto exchange. The Midnight Foundation announced the launch, while S.BLOX confirmed it became Japan’s first domestic exchange operator to support NIGHT on August 24, 2026.
Midnight Expands Access in Japan
S.BLOX said the listing adds NIGHT to its supported crypto assets. The move gives local customers a domestic route to buy and hold NIGHT as Midnight expands in Asia.
The launch also connects Midnight with a Sony Group-linked business. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson said Japan can be difficult for crypto projects seeking exchange access and liquidity. He pointed to Cardano’s earlier experience, where wider liquidity took years to develop.
S.BLOX launched a NIGHT promotion alongside the listing. The campaign runs from August 24 to September 30, 2026, and rewards customers based on how much NIGHT they purchase.
Customers who buy at least ¥50,000 worth of NIGHT can receive token points tied to their purchase amount. Regular rewards can reach ¥10,000 worth of NIGHT. New customers can also receive an account-opening bonus worth up to ¥4,000 in NIGHT points.
A new user who buys ¥200,000 worth of NIGHT can qualify for ¥10,000 in regular rewards and another ¥4,000 from the new-account offer. That brings the total possible reward to ¥14,000 worth of NIGHT points.
Hoskinson Comments on Sony-Linked Listing
Hoskinson said he had earlier referred to a large Japanese company that Midnight hoped to work with. He later identified Sony and S.BLOX when discussing the new NIGHT listing.
He said the listing gives Midnight a new route into Japan and brings its privacy-focused network to users through a domestic crypto exchange.
NIGHT did not rise immediately after the announcement. At press time, the token traded at $0.01948 after falling 4.79% over 24 hours.
Despite the daily drop, NIGHT remained 13.15% higher over the past week. The weekly gain showed that the token kept part of its recent upward move even as selling pressure increased after the Japanese listing.
