NA Grand Final for The International 2026 set as GamerLegion locks in spot

GamerLegion has punched its ticket to the North America Grand Final for The International 2026, putting itself one best-of-5 series away from competing on the biggest stage in Dota 2 esports. The NA Regional Qualifier, running June 24-26, will send exactly one team to TI’s main event in Shanghai this August.

The North America qualifier uses a double-elimination bracket format, meaning teams get a second chance if they lose early, but only up to a point. The Grand Final itself is a best-of-5, the longest series format available.

GamerLegion has already confirmed their place in that Grand Final after navigating through earlier rounds of the qualifier. Their opponent has yet to be determined from the remaining teams still battling through the bracket.

The participating field includes The Bug, GG Boom, and 4 Anchors and Ilmeria, among others. These rosters earned their spots through open qualifiers that ran from June 9-12.

What’s waiting in Shanghai

The International 2026, sometimes referred to as TI15, is scheduled for August 13-23 in Shanghai. The prize pool sits at $1.6 million. The main event format opens with a Swiss-style group stage from August 13-16, with playoffs running from August 20-23.

Why the NA slot matters more than the numbers suggest

North America getting only one direct qualifier slot tells you everything about the region’s standing in competitive Dota 2 right now. That scarcity makes the Grand Final enormously high-stakes. For GamerLegion, this is a chance to represent an entire region at the most prestigious event in their game. For whoever emerges from the lower bracket to face them, it’s a do-or-die scenario with no safety net.
