NAVI reveals first opponent in EWC26 playoffs after group stage victory

Natus Vincere, better known as NAVI, has punched their ticket to the Esports World Cup 2026 playoffs and now knows exactly who’s standing in their way. The storied Ukrainian organization will take on Legacy in the Round of 16, setting up a matchup in one of the year’s biggest Counter-Strike 2 tournaments.

The match is scheduled for August 20, 2026, as part of the EWC26 being held in Paris. For NAVI, the playoff berth was earned the hard way: a 2-1 victory over The MongolZ in the Group D upper-bracket semifinal on August 15.

How NAVI got here

NAVI managed to close out the full three maps against The MongolZ, and that result was enough to secure their spot in the single-elimination playoff bracket. Single elimination means there’s no safety net from here on out. One bad series and the tournament is over.

In a field of 32 teams competing in the EWC26 CS2 category, NAVI’s group stage performance positioned them as one of the stronger teams heading into the knockout rounds.

The Esports World Cup 2026 runs from August 12 to August 23 in Paris, with a $2 million prize pool dedicated specifically to the CS2 portion of the event. The event is organized with backing from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. The EWC26 features 25 events across 24 different titles, with 32 teams competing in the CS2 category.
