The Politecnico di Torino has opened the first training course for Bitcoin and Lightning Network developers, through its School of Master and Permanent Education. The initiative sees the collaboration of the Plan ₿ Network, with course registrations open until February 5, 2025.
Politecnico di Torino and the new training course for Bitcoin developers
The Scuola di Master e Formazione Permanente del Politecnico di Torino has announced the launch of the first training program for Bitcoin developers. The course is called “Bitcoin, Lightning Network and Distributed Systems Technologies” and involves the collaboration of Plan ₿ Network.
In practice, it is a new training course that aims to prepare Bitcoin developers on Lightning Network technology.
The registrations for the new course are open until February 5th of this year, while the course will start in March and will end in June 2025.
Also, Plan ₿ Network, an international platform that provides tools and educational content dedicated to Bitcoin technology, shared the announcement on X:
“Are you enthusiastic about Bitcoin, Lightning, and distributed systems? In collaboration with @BitPolito, we present an innovative course hosted by the prestigious Politecnico di Torino, designed to equip developers, IT professionals, researchers, and innovators with cutting-edge skills. Here’s why you should enroll.”
The general idea is to create more and more qualified engineers and developers to lead and innovate projects based on Bitcoin (BTC) and on distributed systems that are increasingly in demand in the job market.
In fact, it seems that from startups to Big Tech, from Fintech to banks, from the world of cybersecurity to payment services, the demand for this new professional figure is increasingly in demand.
The program is designed for recent graduates or young workers who already have a foundation in the software development sector and want to gain deep expertise in the transformative fields of these technologies.
Politecnico Torino and the course on Bitcoin and Lightning Network
The new course at the Politecnico di Torino focuses on Lightning Network technology, defining it as a decentralized network that enables instant and low-cost transactions on Bitcoin.
Not only that, this choice is based on the fact that the Lightning Network is also considered as one of the most innovative and rapidly evolving fields of the entire crypto ecosystem.
Speaking in numbers, the Politecnico states that Bitcoin holds almost 58% of the market share and the Lightning Network continues to grow with about 17,000 nodes, over 5,000 Bitcoin of liquidity, and with the capacity to potentially handle millions of transactions per second.
In this regard, Danilo Bazzanella, Coordinator of the course and lecturer in Cryptography, Blockchain, and Crypto-economics at the Polytechnic University of Turin, stated as follows:
“Lightning Network represents the future of Bitcoin technology, because it allows for instant low-cost and secure microtransactions, surpassing the possibilities of traditional exchange currencies, at least for small money transfers. More and more companies are asking us to train engineers, developers, and data scientists capable of innovating projects based on Blockchain and Bitcoin technology, and this course offers those who want to specialize in this field the tools to develop and manage innovative applications and solutions.”
