“SEASON 2 UNLOCKED: – The Polygon Community Grants Program (CGP) returns; – 35 million POL up for grabs; 3 AI tracks and more. Applications are open”

The independent GAs are led by groups like ai16z, Crossmint, IoTeX, Thrive, and Gitcoin, and will identify the best projects and distribute millions in POL.

The announcement states that applications for builders and their projects are open until April 15, 2025.

Polygon and the Community Grants Program: the themes are AI, DePIN, and Memecoin

For this second season of the Community Grants Program, the themes indicated for the projects are Artificial Intelligence (AI), DePIN and Memecoin.

Specifically, the 35 million POL in grants will be distributed up to 15 million POL on the three key themes of AI such as AI agents, apps, and infrastructure, of DePIN and of Memecoin.

To give an example, Polygon explains that if the builders are working at the intersection between AI and Web3, then it is time to make themselves heard by the Grant Allocators of the Community Grants Program.

The grant program is supervised by the Community Treasury Board and fuels a vibrant community of builders and disruptive projects.

According to what was stated by Polygon, the first season of the program received more than 1000 applications, allocating 18 million POL to more than 120 projects.

The price of POL

At the time of writing, the price of POL is $0.45. Unlike other cryptos, POL did not ride the bullish wave of November after Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential elections, nor in December with BTC reaching its new ATH.

POL saw its price increase only last March 2024, recording exactly on March 14, 2024, its All-Time High (ATH) at $1.27.

The POL token, previously called MATIC, is in the 32nd position in the overall crypto ranking, with a market capitalization of 3.85 billion dollars.
