Revolut is building a platform to give European retail customers access to private equity, private credit, and infrastructure funds, asset classes that have historically been the exclusive domain of pension funds, endowments, and the very wealthy.
The private markets platform is expected to launch in late 2026, and the company is already in advanced discussions with some of the biggest names in alternative asset management to stock the shelves.
Apollo, Blackstone, and the democratization playbook
In February 2026, Revolut entered negotiations with Apollo Global Management to provide funds directly to EU retail customers. Apollo’s proposed lineup includes private credit, real estate, and other alternative strategies.
Talks have also extended to Blackstone, signaling that Revolut’s ambitions in this space go well beyond a single partnership.
Revolut Trading received authorization from the UK Financial Conduct Authority in May 2026 to offer managed portfolios and private wealth services. That regulatory green light clears the path for more sophisticated products, including the alternative investment offerings currently in development.
What investors and observers should watch
The platform is still in the planning stages as of mid-2026, and no specific fund offerings have been formally confirmed. Revolut’s target demographic appears to be high-net-worth individuals across the UK and Europe.
Private market funds are illiquid by nature, meaning investors typically cannot exit on demand the way they can sell a stock. How Revolut structures redemption terms, lock-up periods, and liquidity provisions for retail customers will determine whether this product is genuinely accessible or simply a dressed-up version of what already exists for the wealthy.
Notably, this initiative has no apparent connection to crypto or digital assets. Revolut, which has built a significant crypto trading business on its platform, appears to be treating this as a distinct and separate product line aimed squarely at traditional alternatives.
Apollo and Blackstone have both been aggressively expanding their retail distribution strategies globally over the past few years. Revolut gives them a digital-native distribution channel in Europe that they do not currently have at scale.
