Sevilla signs Ghanaian player Emmanuel Abrokwa on contract until 2029

Sevilla FC has locked down 18-year-old Ghanaian winger Emmanuel Abrokwa on a deal running through June 2029, marking the first time a player has moved directly from a Ghanaian club to the Spanish outfit. The signing, confirmed on July 8, 2026, represents Sevilla’s latest bet on young international talent from regions that European clubs have historically under-scouted.

Abrokwa arrives from Adabraka Elders, a Ghanaian club that now holds the distinction of producing Sevilla’s first direct Ghanaian import. Football journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal, which had been building quietly since March 2026 when Abrokwa participated in training sessions with the club.

From Accra to Andalusia

Born in 2008, Abrokwa has already carved out a reputation in youth international football. He has represented Ghana at both the U19 and U20 levels. Before joining Adabraka Elders, he played for Peace Boys, another Ghanaian side where he first caught the attention of scouts.
