Soneium by Sony brings the mini-apps of the social LINE to the blockchain

Soneium, the blockchain of Sony, has formed a partnership with the largest Japanese social network LINE, to bring mini-apps onto the blockchain. The goal is to make the adoption of Web3 mainstream.

A new achievement of Soneium, the blockchain launched by Sony Block Solutions Labs in January 2025, is the new partnership with LINE, the largest Japanese social network.

In fact, it seems that the mini-apps of LINE are about to land on the blockchain of Soneium, thus extending the adoption of Web3 to the mainstream level.

“The LINE mini-apps are coming to Soneium. We are bringing the LINE MINI-app to Soneium, connecting with LINE’s 200 million active users. Soneium is accelerating the onchain game, this integration enhances the web3 user experience, which will bring users into decentralized applications without compromising ease of use. Let’s explore the LINE mini-apps that will soon be launched on Soneium!”

This means that the integration of Soneium into LINE applications will soon be used by over 200 million users of the Japanese social network.

Soneium and LINE: what are the mini-apps that integrate blockchain?

In the coming months, Soneium will be integrated into four LINE mini-apps: Sleepagotchi LITE, Farm Frens, Moonveil – Puffy Match, and Pocket Mob. 

Specifically, Sleepagotchi LITE is a game that has been successful on Telegram, reaching 1 million users in just one month and has entered the Top 10 of the highest-grossing apps.

Farm Frens debuted as a flagship minigame on Telegram in 2024, raising over 10 million dollars in funding so far.

Moonveil.gg is, instead, already a leading gaming ecosystem in the zk-L2 and AI sector, designed to support web3 game builders with high-quality infrastructure and AI-driven tools. Moonveil is dedicated to advancing the web3 gaming space. Puffy Match, a minigame from Moonveil, offers simple rules and quick gaming sessions, making it ideal for community engagement and rewards.

The fourth Pocket Mob game sees players engaging in mafia-style battles and joining families directly within messaging applications, earning points that can lead to NFT rewards. 

Regarding the new partnership signed between LINE and Soneium, Jun Watanabe, president of Sony Block Solutions Labs, said:

“LINE has built a strong presence and the integration of successful mini-apps into the Soneium ecosystem is a next step to make Soneium more accessible. We believe that this collaboration will foster engagement and adoption in ways that were previously difficult to achieve.”

Two months of phenomenal success

Soneium is the layer 2 of Ethereum, launched at the beginning of 2025 by Sony Block Solutions Labs, which aims to create a bridge between the conventional Web2 internet and the emerging Web3. 

In just two months of existence, Soneium has achieved phenomenal success, reaching 4 million wallet addresses, 2 million active users per day, and over 45 million total transactions.

Last month, Soneium formed a partnership also with Fireblocks, the blockchain-based enterprise platform for crypto custody. Here, the common goal is to build together a foundation to offer new digital experiences of Web3.
