- Chainlink CCIP is now live on Sonic mainnet, enhancing cross-chain interoperability.
- Sonic adopts Chainlink Data Streams and Feeds for low-latency, verifiable market data.
- These integrations drive Sonic’s DeFi ecosystem and cross-chain capabilities.
Sonic Labs, formerly known as Fantom, has unveiled its integration of Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) on its mainnet. This development marks a transformative leap for Sonic’s ecosystem, enabling secure token transfers, arbitrary messaging, and programmable transactions between blockchains.
Backed by DONs, CCIP’s robust security framework has already secured more than $18 trillion in on-chain transactions. With the Cross-Chain Token standard, Sonic developers can easily integrate any token for cross-chain operations, improving programmability and security. With rate limits and smart execution, among other features, reliability is guaranteed even at high network activity, hence allowing the setup of scalable decentralized applications.
Data Streams and Feeds: The DeFi Catalyst
Beyond interoperability, Sonic has also integrated the network’s Data Streams and Data Feeds for low-latency, real-time market data for developers. It gives the DeFi applications a user experience close to centralized exchanges. Secure, reliable access to data from Chainlink’s battle-tested oracle infrastructure opens up the door to high-performance applications in the Sonic ecosystem.
As part of the the network’ scale program, Sonic will have access to premium Oracle services in a sustainable manner, which in turn fuels ecosystem growth. The integration enables developers to access high-frequency market data, creating new pathways in innovating new DeFi solutions that unlock novel cross-chain use cases and drive greater blockchain adoption.
Sonic and Chainlink: A Path to Mass Adoption
The partnership represents the shared vision of mass blockchain adoption by the use of secure interoperability combined with advanced data solutions. Sam Harcourt of Sonic Labs noted that CCIP, Data Streams, and Feeds are the necessary building blocks in driving high-performance DeFi applications.
Thodoris Karakostas, Head of Chainlink Labs, also commented:
We’re excited to see the Chainlink standard for cross-chain interoperability and low-latency-market data live on Sonic mainnet, enabling the secure transfer of digital assets between Sonic and other chains, and access to on-demand price data.
With secure asset transfers, programmable transactions, and low-latency market data combined, Sonic is in a position to become the leading platform for next-generation blockchain solutions. This strategic alignment underlines Sonic’s commitment to using Chainlink’s technology to unlock the full potential of a multi-chain future.
