Soneium, Sony’s public blockchain, is partnering with LINE, a popular messaging and digital services platform, to integrate four mini-apps into the blockchain network, according to a Wednesday announcement.

The mini-apps that will be brought onchain are Sleepagotchi LITE, Farm Frens, Moonveil’s Puffy Match, and Pocket Mob.

Sleepagotchi LITE, a simplified version of the upcoming sleep rewards app, previously reached 1 million users on Telegram within one month. Farm Frens, developed by Amihan Entertainment with over $10 million in funding, will bring its farming gameplay to LINE’s user base.

Moonveil’s Puffy Match will expand the reach of its zk-L2 and AI-powered gaming ecosystem, while Pocket Mob, created by Sonzai Labs, will offer social strategy RPG gameplay where users can earn Respect points convertible to NFT rewards.

The integration, set to take place in the coming months, is aimed at making web3 more accessible and user-friendly.

Through the collaboration, Soneium can gain access to a massive user base, accelerating the adoption of its platform and technology. LINE’s established presence, particularly in key Asian markets, provides a solid foundation for introducing blockchain applications to a receptive audience.

“LINE has built a strong presence and integrating successful mini-apps into the Soneium ecosystem is the next step toward making Soneium more accessible. We believe this collaboration will drive engagement and adoption in ways that were previously difficult to achieve,” said Jun Watanabe, Chairman of Sony Block Solutions Labs.

For LINE, partnering with Soneium positions the messaging giant at the forefront of technological advancements.

LINE MINI App developers will benefit from Soneium’s resources, including infrastructure, marketing, and community building. This will enable developers to focus on innovation and gain experience building web3 apps.

The announcement follows LINE NEXT’s introduction of its first batch of Mini dApps via LINE mobile messenger last month, targeting enhancing web3 adoption in Asia through games and social media services.

Since its launch last year, Soneium has seen rapid growth. As of the latest data, the network has attracted over 1 million accounts and 4 million total addresses.

However, the number of active accounts has declined in recent days amid crypto market volatility.
