Strive raises $50M to acquire 429 Bitcoin in largest single-day purchase this week

Strive, the asset management firm trading on NASDAQ under the ticker ASST, dropped $50 million on 429 Bitcoin in a single day, its largest daily purchase in what’s shaping up to be a record accumulation week. The buy contributed to a weekly haul of 1,084 BTC, cementing Strive’s position as one of the more aggressive corporate Bitcoin accumulators on public markets.

The capital came through SATA, Strive’s Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Preferred Stock, which has become the company’s primary engine for converting investor appetite into Bitcoin on its balance sheet. Investors buy preferred shares, Strive takes the proceeds, and those dollars become Bitcoin. No common stock dilution required.

The mechanics behind the buying spree

Strive authorized a $500 million at-the-market (ATM) program for SATA in December 2025, designed explicitly to fund Bitcoin acquisitions. The program lets Strive sell preferred shares directly into the open market at prevailing prices, raising capital incrementally rather than through a single large offering.

During the week of August 24-27, 2026, Strive acquired over 500 BTC from SATA proceeds alone. Daily purchases during this stretch ranged between 130 and 200 BTC, with the 429 BTC day standing out as a clear outlier. At roughly $116,500 per coin implied by the $50 million price tag, the purchase reflects current market pricing notably higher than some of Strive’s earlier buys.

Between August 17 and 21, 2026, the company picked up 1,110 BTC at an average cost exceeding $73,409 per coin. That earlier batch was acquired at prices roughly 37% lower than the latest purchase.

SATA itself is trading at or above its $100 par value. The preferred stock offers investors a variable yield of approximately 13% annually, making it attractive enough to maintain demand above par. As long as SATA trades at or above that $100 threshold, Strive can continue issuing shares without destroying value for existing holders.

A Bitcoin treasury that rivals mid-tier mining operations

With this latest round of purchases, Strive’s total Bitcoin holdings have surpassed 21,000 BTC, a treasury worth roughly $2.4 billion at current prices.

The SATA instrument launched with an IPO in November 2025 that raised $149.3 million, which Strive immediately deployed to acquire 1,567 BTC. Since then, the ATM program has allowed the company to steadily build its position without the friction of repeated public offerings or shareholder votes.
