Team Spirit adjusts roster as Collapse and Miposhka take breaks ahead of BLAST SLAM VIII

Fresh off winning their third Aegis of Champions at The International 2026, Team Spirit is giving two of its most important players some well-earned time off. Offlaner Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov and support-turned-coach Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov are stepping away from the active lineup ahead of the BLAST SLAM VIII tournament, which runs September 29 through October 11, 2026, in Malta.

The organization will field Bohdan “Batyuk” Batiuk and a player known as Illidan as temporary replacements. Think of it as a championship team resting its starters during the regular season, except the regular season still has a $750,000 prize pool attached to it.

Post-TI fatigue is real

The breaks are reportedly tied to personal reasons related to post-TI fatigue. For Miposhka, this is familiar territory. He previously stepped away from the team in October 2025 before returning in a coaching capacity in June 2026.

The BLAST SLAM VIII roster deadline apparently drove the timing of this announcement. Interestingly, insider reports indicated that Collapse was registered for the tournament despite the announced break, suggesting some administrative overlap or perhaps a contingency plan if circumstances change before September.

Spirit’s dynasty in context

Team Spirit’s third TI title in August 2026 cemented the organization’s sustained competitive excellence. Since acquiring the Yellow Submarine roster in late 2020, Team Spirit has clinched back-to-back International titles in 2021 and 2023, before achieving their third championship in 2026, becoming the first team to win three TIs.
