A year ago, I would have never thought I’d fall in love with crypto. In fact, I would have never imagined it would become my greatest passion and the professional path I want to pursue.

This reflection got me thinking about this question: How many times have you given up on something you wanted to do just because you thought it was impossible?

Exploring the unknown, which often intimidates us, can change our lives in ways we could have never imagined. This is exactly what happened to me a year ago with the crypto ecosystem.

But who is this guy writing…?

Let me introduce myself: my name is Pablo Lacampagne, I’m 21 years old, and I’m currently studying entrepreneurship and business administration in Madrid. This is my first article, and I want it to mark the beginning of my journey as an entrepreneur moving forward.

A year ago, I delved deeper into the crypto ecosystem thanks to a very special person. In the beginning, my perspective was skeptical because I wasn’t sure if it was sustainable in the long term or if it was something meant for me.

My initial skepticism didn’t last long. It only took one month of deeper research to start understanding the true essence of this sector, far from the prejudices that surround it.

As I started to dig deeper, I realized crypto wasn’t just about investment or speculation — it was about innovation, freedom, and building a decentralized future. The more I learned — and continue to learn — the more fascinated I become by the endless possibilities it offers.

Now, let me share what has been capturing my attention lately this year:

My first major discovery in this ecosystem was learning about decentralized social media platforms — specifically Warpcast, a wallet app built on the Farcaster protocol.

Dashboard: Key Metrics of the Farcaster Network

Other platforms, known as connected apps — which allow users to post and browse content but rely on a wallet app like Warpcast for account management — include Supercast and Yup.

While I won’t dive too deeply into these topics right now, as I plan to explore them further in the future, it’s important to give you some context.

When I started exploring how these apps compete with traditional platforms like Twitter, I quickly realized that, beyond simply using them as a regular user, they offer unique advantages.

The main advantages of these platforms include the potential to earn crypto rewards— such as tips for valuable contributions — greater control over your data, resistance to censorship, and interoperability with other applications, specifically decentralized apps (dApps).

All these features represent a paradigm shift in how we engage with social media and how ownership and freedom can truly belong to the users — perhaps what we will come to know in the future as the Internet of Value and Privacy.

All of this, along with many other projects and currencies like Bitcoin and XRP, has captured my attention and made me fall in love with something I never imagined I’d be so deeply involved in or so eager to grow within.

I should add that I don’t consider myself an expert at all — just a young crypto enthusiast with the ambition and determination to become one someday.

Today, I’m excited to continue learning, growing, and building within the crypto ecosystem. This article marks just the beginning of my journey, and I hope it inspires you to start your own if you haven’t already — or to keep pushing forward on the path you’re already on, wherever it may lead you.

And remember — no matter how impossible or out of reach something may seem, we can always surprise ourselves with how far we can go if we truly desire it. Just ask yourself: what will yours be?

As this is my first article, I’d love to hear your thoughts or connect with like-minded readers. Feel free to share your feedback!
