Kite AI has launched the first level 1 blockchain focused on artificial intelligence (AI), thanks to Avalanche.

For now, it is still just a testnet, but it is already online.
The testnet of Kite AI introduces an environment specifically designed where AI tools, models, and data can operate in a decentralized and transparent ecosystem.
To achieve this, a blockchain optimized for the use of strumenti AI for developers and institutions has been created.
In particular, this project was created to support the development of artificial intelligence on blockchain infrastructures, addressing the limitations of traditional blockchains, such as scalability, inefficient data processing, and centralized control over workflows.
The Kite AI platform provides a fair coordination layer that facilitates collaborators, including data providers, model builders, and autonomous agents. In this way, they can collaborate while maintaining ownership and receiving compensation for their work.
The testnet is open to developers and institutions that wish to explore blockchain applications based on artificial intelligence.
The Kite AI blockchain
At the base of Kite AI’s infrastructure is the so-called Proof of Attributed Intelligence (PoAI), which is a consensus mechanism that supports transparent attribution and incentivization of AI contributions.
In this way, decentralization is maintained while simultaneously addressing challenges related to data accessibility, attribution, and computational efficiency.
The platform leverages the scalable infrastructure of Avalanche, thus facilitating high-speed processing of workloads, allowing developers to create and deploy AI-based applications without the constraints of traditional blockchain environments.
The Layer 1 blockchain of Kite AI integrates four main components: the PoAI, a decentralized data access engine, a composable artificial intelligence ecosystem with customizable subnets, and a decentralized and portable AI memory.
The PoAI tracks and rewards the contributions of artificial intelligence on data, models, and agents to promote transparency and fair incentives, a decentralized data access engine.
The engine provides secure and transparent data access with attribution mechanisms that allow data providers to maintain ownership.
The ecosystem with customizable subnets promotes flexible governance structures, allowing AI developers, model builders, and data providers to collaborate within specialized environments.
The decentralized and portable memory maintains attribution and long-term scalability for AI models, allowing privacy-protected memory storage for billions of interactions.
Avalanche hosts the first AI blockchain
Avalanche is a high-performance blockchain platform designed for developers who need scalability.
It is based on a Layer 1 architecture divided into three parts, and based on the Avalanche Consensus Mechanism, which ensures almost instantaneous finality for transactions. Additionally, it also utilizes an open-source Layer 0 framework that allows for the creation of new interoperable Layer 1 blockchains with high throughput, on both public and private networks.
On Avalanche, there are more and more projects connected to artificial intelligence.
Kite AI, for example, is a member of the selection committee for the Avalanche InfraBuidl(AI) program, and is actively involved in supporting the growth of the AI ecosystem on Avalanche.
The Kite AI project
Kite AI is a provider of decentralized AI infrastructure.
In particular, it is a platform based on a Layer 1 blockchain compatible with EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine), designed to power the AI economy.
The company has raised funding from high-level investors, including General Catalyst, Hashed, Hashkey, Samsung Next, and others.
Its end-to-end infrastructure has been built over the last two years and tested by partners such as Eigenlayer, Story Protocol, Sui, ZKsync, Polygon, AWS, Stellar, Chainlink, Crypto.com and many others.
The project was developed by a team with significant experience at the intersection of blockchain and AI, given that the co-founders previously held technological leadership roles at Uber, Salesforce, and Databricks. The core team is composed of experienced professionals from industry-leading companies such as Google, BlackRock, Deutsche Bank, Nomura, McKinsey, Uber, eBay, and NEAR Foundation.
