The innovative RuneArt project has presented TIMESTAMPS, a new collection of digital art based on Bitcoin, which combines the Runes and Ordinals protocols.

We talk about a collection developed by 6 visionary artists, who have contributed with 10 works each, divided in turn into 100 different ArtNodes.

Let’s see all the details below.

RuneArt: a new format for the creation of artworks on Bitcoin that merges the Runes with the Ordinals

RuneArt is a cryptographic project that combines digital art with blockchain technology, uniting the world of Bitcoin Ordinals with that of Runes.

We remind you that Bitcoin Ordinals represents a system of “inscription“, where each satoshi (sat) is assigned a unique and distinguishable number.

This particular protocol enabled for the first time in 2023 the creation of NFT within the Bitcoin ecosystem, until then considered impossible.

The Runes, on the other hand, represent an evolution of the Ordinals, which aims to create fungible tokens on the chain through the UTXO (Unspent Transaction Output) transaction model and the OP_RETURN opcode.

Returning to RuneArt, this project aims to create unique and digital artworks that can be authenticated and tracked on the Bitcoin blockchain.

However, unlike classic NFT collections, RuneArt introduces a new format for accessing and sharing art through the use of particular tokens.

In practice, an artwork from one’s own community of artists is taken and archived on the Bitcoin network using the Ordinals protocol. This will have a connection to a Runes ticker, with a supply of 100 tokens, each of which is called “ArtNodes”.

Once the ArtNodes are distributed, the work is minted to expand access to 100 potential participants.

This vision allows each individual collection to be spread to a wider audience, dividing each item into more sellable ArtNodes.

By doing so, a network effect is created that opens the doors to a movement of fine arts on Bitcoin focused on sharing, promoting a deep bond between artists and collectors.

RuneArt therefore offers a new form of artistic expression that leverages emerging technologies to create a progressive movement of contemporary digital art.

What is TIMESTAMPS?

TIMESTAMPS represents a revolutionary collaborative art collection, conceived by Gordon Berger, a pioneering artist of digital art on Bitcoin.

This visionary project combines the cutting-edge features of Bitcoin (such as Recursion, Rare Sats, and generative AI) with fine arts to revolutionize the way art is created, shared, and owned.

This is a great work shared with 5 other renowned artists, each of whom contributed with 10 different works of art.

Each work is in turn divided into 100 ArtNodes, creating a collaborative and distributed format that combines the power of Bitcoin Ordinal with that of Runes.

The artists in question are: Andrea Chiampo, Burst, Auriea Harvey, Dr. Ivona Tau, Toomuchlag, as well as Gordon Berger himself.

In total, there are thus 6,000 different ArtNodes.

A fundamental element of TIMESTAMPS is represented by the customized infrastructure on the Bitcoin blockchain. For the creation of custom inscriptions, the project uses OrdinalsBot, used to embed the data of artworks on the cryptographic network, thus creating a unique and non-replicable token for each artwork.

The works of art leverage the power of Bitcoin as a medium and integrate features such as recursion, Rare Sats, and generative artificial intelligence, making them dynamic and deeply native to Bitcoin.

TIMESTAMPS ushers in a new era of participation in the fine arts on Bitcoin through a unique community-based approach, promoting accessibility without compromising exclusivity.

$ART airdrop: an initiative that rewards the community

The RuneART team has planned a major airdrop dedicated to its community, particularly to the holders of the $ART token.

This resource was launched in April 2024 by Gordon Berger, sparking strong interest from investors and digital art enthusiasts.

In a single evening, $ART, which is defined as a “performance art token”, was minted for 21 million units, achieving great success.

Gordon Berger has defined his asset with the ticker “ART•IS•THE•TICKER”, conceptualizing the value, network effects, and the financialization of art on-chain.

Now the holders of $ART could benefit from an important economic recognition through a crypto airdrop prize.

The project team will provide more information today with a post on X, in conjunction with the Ordinals Tokyo event that will be held at the Tokyo Tower.

$ART is a token of the Runes protocol, exchangeable within the marketplace MagicEden.

Users can purchase the asset starting from BTC, through a simple trading interface that enables both market and limit orders.

Since its launch in April 2024, this coin has attracted volumes of 3.9687 BTC, equivalent to a value of 406,000 dollars.

The current market cap is 234,000 dollars, with a supply of 21 million units and 1,070 holders.

In the first days of trading, $ART increased by 500%, rising from the initial price of 10 sat to 60 sat.

In the following months, however, there was a phase of decline, which brought the quotations back to almost the listing value.

With the latest airdrop initiative, it is possible that the cryptocurrency of the Bitcoin Runes ecosystem may reemerge and find new momentum from demand.
