TrendleFi enables trading on attention metrics with perpetual markets

4 hours ago 10

TrendleFi is a platform, currently in closed beta, that offers perpetual futures contracts tied to what it calls an “Attention Index,” or Dollar of Attention (DoA). Instead of speculating on whether Bitcoin will hit a certain price or whether a candidate will win an election, traders take leveraged positions on whether public interest in a given topic will rise or fall. The closed-beta phase has already generated over $3.6 million in trading volume.

How attention becomes a tradeable asset

TrendleFi’s core innovation is treating social engagement as a quantifiable, tradeable metric. The DoA index aggregates data from major social platforms including X, YouTube, and Reddit, measuring narrative momentum around specific themes. Those themes can be protocols, influencers, memes, or broader cultural moments.

Traders can go long if they believe a topic is about to blow up, or short if they think the hype cycle is peaking. Positions are leveraged, meaning gains and losses are amplified. Profit and loss are determined entirely by movements in the DoA index, not by the price of any underlying asset.

The platform is co-founded by CEO Philipp Tsagolov and is built on the Monad blockchain, using Azuro’s prediction-market protocol as its infrastructure layer.

Why this isn’t just another prediction market

Prediction markets have had a banner year. Platforms like Polymarket proved there’s enormous demand for speculative contracts on real-world events. But those markets are inherently binary: something happens or it doesn’t, a candidate wins or loses, a date passes with or without a product launch.

TrendleFi is aiming at something structurally different. Perpetual contracts on attention metrics don’t resolve to a yes-or-no outcome. They trade continuously, like perps on any other asset, with the index value fluctuating based on real-time social data. That means positions can be held, adjusted, and managed with the same toolkit traders use for crypto perpetuals: stop losses, take profits, leverage scaling.

TrendleFi frames this as “AttentionFi,” a category it’s trying to define and own.

Early traction and what comes next

The $3.6 million in closed-beta volume is a meaningful signal, though it comes with the usual caveats about early-stage metrics. Cumulative volume was reported at over $1.4 million as of August 21, indicating that activity has continued to build over the beta period rather than clustering around launch excitement and then fading.

The beta phase is explicitly designed to test two things: whether there’s enough natural liquidity to sustain continuous trading, and whether users actually find the DoA index intuitive enough to trade around.

The choice to build on Azuro’s protocol gives TrendleFi access to an existing liquidity framework rather than bootstrapping one from scratch.

The risk, of course, is that attention is notoriously difficult to quantify in a way that resists manipulation. Social metrics can be gamed. Bot activity can inflate or deflate apparent interest. The integrity of the DoA index will ultimately depend on how robustly TrendleFi can filter signal from noise across the platforms it aggregates.
