$TRUMP Coin Bounces Back With 20% Pump After Donald Trump Says ”I Don’t Know Much About It”

Donald Trump’s newly-launched meme coin Official Trump (TRUMP) bounced back with a more than 20% pump following a steep correction shortly after the US president said he didn’t know much about the token.

“I don’t know much about it other than I launched it, other than it was very successful,” Trump said during a Jan. 21 press conference. “I don’t know where it is.“  

TRUMP Billions “Peanuts” For Conference Attendees

When told by a reporter at the event that the TRUMP meme coin had made several billion dollars, Trump said that was peanuts for people like OpenAI boss Sam Altman, Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son and Oracle chief Larry Ellison, who were standing beside him after the launch of the $500 billion Stargate Project for building AI infrastructure.

TRUMP Meme Coin Recovers After Strong Pullback

After Trump said he didn’t know much about the token, the crypto’s price dropped to a 24-hour low of $34.85. 

“Trump just nuked his own meme coin,” said Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart in a Jan. 22 post on X.

But the TRUMP price soon recovered, and it’s surged 20% in the past 24 hours to trade at $42.99 as of 2:29 a.m. EST. Despite that, the crypto is still down more than 43% from the $75.35 all-time high that it reached on Jan. 19.

All the attention on Solana meme coin TRUMP is boosting SOL-based projects like layer 2 token Solaxy (SOLX), which has raised more than $13.1 million in its presale.

Solaxy is designed to help alleviate the congestion on the Solana network that’s been exacerbated by surging trading in Trump family meme coins like TRUMP and Official Melania Meme (MELANIA). 

TRUMP recorded trading volume of $20.8 billion in the last 24 hours and MELANIA $753 million.
