World Liberty Financial, the crypto-based project backed by Donald Trump and his family, will acquire more TRON (TRX) tokens after purchasing $9.8 million worth of Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), CoinDesk reported, citing a person familiar with the plan.

World Liberty Financial now holds $352 million worth of crypto, including $181 million of Ethereum (ETH), $56 million WBTC, $32 million of staked ether (STETH), and $7.4 million of TRX, according to blockchain analysis platform Arkham.

Most token buys come after sales of the project’s WLFI tokens. Of the 25 billion tokens still available, around 2.4 billion were sold.

World Liberty Financial Has Raised $1.1 Billion

Since the World Liberty Financial platform was launched in September, it has raised $1.1 billion. At the beginning, the platform said it would sell 20% of the 100 billion tokens they created. However, the website soon listed an additional 5 billion tokens.

After the $TRUMP and $MELANIA meme coins were launched, WLFI token sales surged. Most crypto purchases occurred several hours before Trump’s inauguration ceremony.

Meanwhile, a regulatory overhaul is planned after Gary Gensler leaves the chief role of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

“I am looking forward to seeing the Trump administration’s pro-crypto stance inspire and develop policies and initiatives,” said TRON founder Justin Sun. ”That will drive innovation and promote financial inclusion, ensuring cryptocurrency becomes accessible to a wider audience.”

Sun purchased $30 million worth of WLFI tokens last November, becoming the largest investor in the project.
