Trump praises Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and company’s chips during Oval Office visit

President Trump hosted Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang in the Oval Office, using the visit to publicly praise both Huang and the company’s semiconductor products.

This isn’t the first time Trump and Huang have shared a room. The two met in December 2025 to discuss export controls on advanced semiconductors, a conversation that sits at the center of US-China technology competition. That meeting was significant because Nvidia’s most powerful chips are exactly the kind of hardware the US has been restricting from reaching Chinese AI labs.

Then came the May 2026 China trip. Huang was added to Trump’s CEO delegation at the last minute, after initial concerns surfaced about his absence from the roster. The fact that Trump personally intervened to include Huang tells you everything about how central Nvidia has become to the administration’s technology diplomacy.

Earlier in 2025, Huang participated in a White House event focused on “Investing in America,” where Trump listened to the CEO lay out Nvidia’s vision for domestic AI infrastructure.
