Anyone who has tried sending funds across blockchains knows the ritual. Find a bridge. Approve the transaction. Wait. Pay fees on both ends. Hope nothing goes wrong.
Openfort is betting there is a better way. The company launched its Universal Deposit Address feature on June 19, 2026, giving each user a single deposit address that accepts tokens from multiple blockchain networks and automatically handles everything that happens next.
One address, seven chains, zero manual bridging
A user gets one address. They send tokens to it from any supported network. The system figures out the routing, does the bridging and swapping behind the scenes, and delivers the result to a specified destination wallet.
In the most common use case, that destination is a Solana wallet receiving USDC, regardless of what the sender originally held or which chain they sent it from.
Supported networks at launch include Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Solana itself. Routable assets cover the major stablecoins and native tokens, including USDC, USDT, ETH, and SOL.
The practical implication is that an app developer no longer needs to build separate onboarding flows for users arriving from different chains. One deposit address handles all of them, and the app receives a predictable asset on a predictable chain at the end.
A race to abstract away blockchain complexity
Openfort is not alone in pursuing this direction. Biconomy announced comparable Universal Deposit Address tooling on February 26, 2026, roughly four months before Openfort’s launch. Particle Network has released its own Universal Deposit SDK, which creates multi-chain deposit addresses that automatically bridge detected funds to a configured destination, defaulting to USDC on arrival.
For application developers, the most immediate benefit is reduced onboarding drop-off. Automating bridging and routing on the backend means fewer lost users at a critical moment in the acquisition funnel.
For end users, the experience shifts from a multi-step process to something closer to a bank transfer. Send tokens to an address. Receive the expected asset on the other end. The intermediate steps are invisible.
There is a real question about trust and transparency here. When bridging and routing happen automatically, users have less visibility into the path their funds take and the fees extracted along the way. Infrastructure teams building in this space will face pressure to make routing transparent and fee structures legible, especially as these systems handle larger transaction volumes.
No immediate spikes in transaction volumes or notable metrics were recorded in the wake of Openfort’s launch. Infrastructure improvements tend to compound slowly as developers build on top of them and users arrive through finished products rather than raw infrastructure.
