Zoth expands zPayments to Base, targeting $6B in annual cross-border stablecoin payouts

Zoth, a Dubai-headquartered stablecoin neobank, has launched its zPayments platform on Base, Coinbase’s Layer 2 network. The move enables businesses to send instant, compliant stablecoin payouts in local currencies across 171 countries, powered by USDC.

In its first year of operation, zPayments processed over $500M in transaction volume, averaging roughly $40M per month with a 99.1% success rate. Now it wants to multiply that figure by more than tenfold, targeting $6B in annual volume.

From managed desk to self-serve platform

What started as a managed settlement desk has evolved into a self-serve model where businesses can initiate cross-border payouts on their own.

Traditional money transfer services typically charge between 3% and 6% per transaction and take several business days to settle. Zoth claims its payouts settle within minutes at costs up to 80% lower than those legacy rails.

The platform uses USDC as its primary stablecoin, converting it to local currencies through licensed partners on the ground. Zoth has built out a network of over 200 banking partners to handle the last-mile conversion and compliance requirements in each jurisdiction.

Initial geographic coverage leans heavily into the Middle East, with the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman as anchor markets. Southeast Asia represents another major corridor, alongside USD-denominated networks spanning North America, the UK, Europe, and Australia.

Why Base, and why now

Antonio García Martínez, Base’s Head of Growth, acknowledged the integration as a meaningful step for bringing real-world payment utility to the network.

Zoth has also signaled plans to incorporate additional chains and stablecoins in the future, suggesting the Base integration is the beginning of a multi-chain strategy rather than an exclusive commitment.

Zoth has secured Money Transmitter Licenses in all 50 US states and holds FINTRAC MSB registration in Canada. Built-in Know Your Business protocols and real-time transaction tracking are baked into the platform.

Building momentum with institutional partnerships

In May 2026, the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bakkt, the digital asset platform that went public through a SPAC in 2021 and has since pivoted toward institutional crypto infrastructure.

In August 2026, Zoth launched tokenized stocks, expanding its product suite beyond pure payments into the broader tokenized asset space.

CEO Pritam Dutta has emphasized that zPayments was built through rigorous real-world operational development, stress-tested through actual transaction volume before being opened up as a self-serve tool.
