BNB Chain’s Agent Studio just rolled out its second major version, and the headline feature is a new wallet integration that tries to solve one of crypto’s most nerve-wracking questions: how do you let an AI bot spend your money without handing it the keys to the vault?
Altana Network, now live as a wallet option inside BNB Agent Studio v2, offers what it calls a “Smart Agentic Wallet.” The core pitch is straightforward. Builders keep full custody of their private keys while AI agents operate through scoped session keys with hard spending limits, allowlists, and time constraints baked in at the protocol level.
How the plumbing works
Altana’s architecture uses EIP-7702-compatible session keys, a standard that allows delegated execution without transferring ownership.
Permissions live in what Altana calls an on-chain Keystore, a neutral, publicly verifiable registry that any user can audit. If something looks off, those permissions can be revoked instantly. No support tickets, no waiting periods.
Altana works across BNB Chain, Ethereum, and Base using the same wallet address.
What Agent Studio v2 actually ships
The Altana integration sits alongside BNB Agent Studio’s existing wallet option, TWAK (Trust Wallet AgentKit). Having two wallet backends gives developers a choice between approaches depending on their security model and use case.
Agent Studio v2 also introduced TypeScript support, expanding beyond the platform’s earlier language options. The platform now includes a simplified testing environment on testnets, which lets builders prototype agent behavior without risking real funds. Agent monetization features round out the update, giving developers a path to actually generate revenue from the agents they deploy.
Over 200,000 agents are currently registered on BNB Smart Chain as of mid-August 2026.
The bigger picture for BNB Chain’s AI push
BNB Chain first introduced Agent Studio in early July 2026 as a platform for deploying autonomous AI agents directly on-chain. The v2 update launched around August 13, 2026, roughly six weeks later.
On August 5, 2026, BNB Chain announced its “Build the Era” hackathon, which includes dedicated prize tracks for Altana-related development.
