Fanatics CEO discusses new all-in-one betting app combining sportsbook, casino, and prediction markets

Fanatics Betting and Gaming just merged its sportsbook, online casino, and prediction markets into a single mobile app. The unified platform, called Fanatics Sports & Casino, launched on September 2, positioning the company to take a bigger bite out of a market that DraftKings and FanDuel have dominated for years.

CEO Matt King laid out the strategy in a Bloomberg interview, framing the all-in-one approach as the natural evolution of how fans actually want to engage with betting.

One app, 23 states, and a lot of geo-fencing

The new app’s most notable technical feature is its geo-aware design. Depending on where a user physically sits, the app automatically adjusts which products are available.

Sportsbook access is live in 23 states plus Washington D.C. Online casino games are limited to four states: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and West Virginia. Prediction markets reach 22 states and four US territories.

Existing Fanatics customers were migrated to the new app automatically, with their accounts and FanCash balances preserved intact. New users can grab it from standard app stores on both iOS and Android.

The prediction markets play, and the crypto connection

Fanatics Markets initially launched as a standalone app on December 3, 2025, targeting states that didn’t yet have traditional sportsbook access.

That standalone prediction markets product was built through a partnership with Crypto.com, which provided the infrastructure for derivative trading on the platform.

The app now offers up to 10% FanCash back on prediction market trades. That rewards structure mirrors what Fanatics already does across its merchandise and collectibles businesses, creating a loyalty loop that King has repeatedly pointed to as a competitive moat.

Climbing to number three

King discussed Fanatics’ market positioning during the interview, noting the company has climbed to become the third-largest US sportsbook.

Fanatics secured official NFL sportsbook partnership status in late August 2026, just days before the app went live. Football season drives the majority of US sports betting handle, and Fanatics clearly wanted its new product in customers’ hands before kickoff weekend.

The NFL partnership gives Fanatics official league branding and data access. For a company that already controls a massive chunk of licensed sports merchandise through its core business, adding official sportsbook status creates a vertically integrated sports fan ecosystem.

What this means for the betting landscape

By combining sportsbook, casino, and prediction markets into one app, Fanatics can cross-sell across verticals without paying to acquire the same customer three times.

Fanatics’ edge isn’t necessarily the betting product itself. It’s the 100-million-plus customer base already buying jerseys and trading cards through the parent company’s other businesses.
