Mohammed Dahlan, the exiled former Palestinian Authority security chief now based in the UAE, says Jared Kushner personally informed him that an agreement to halt Israeli attacks on Gaza will take effect Sunday morning. The announcement positions both men at the center of what has become one of the most consequential diplomatic channels in the Middle East.
The Kushner-Dahlan channel
Dahlan was pushed out of Palestinian politics in 2011 amid internal rivalries within Fatah, eventually settling in the UAE where he cultivated close ties with Emirati leadership. Kushner, who served as a senior adviser during the first Trump administration, has maintained his own network of Gulf relationships that now appear to be doing real diplomatic heavy lifting.
By late July 2026, both men were credited with facilitating advances in Hamas disarmament negotiations through what has been described as a Washington-controlled “Board of Peace.” That framework, which reportedly took shape around October 2025, involves phased ceasefires, hostage releases, and large-scale reconstruction planning with participation from the US, Qatar, and Egypt.
The broader reconstruction question
Beyond the immediate ceasefire, Dahlan’s involvement points to an ambitious reconstruction agenda for Gaza. The multilateral framework established in late 2025 envisions significant rebuilding efforts. No references to crypto or digital asset involvement have surfaced in connection with the negotiations or planning.
The diplomatic architecture itself is worth watching. The involvement of Qatar and Egypt alongside the US suggests a coalition approach that could stabilize the broader region, or fracture under competing interests.
