Meta to attend White House AI meeting as Trump administration deepens ties with Big Tech

Meta confirmed it will attend a White House AI meeting on August 4, adding another chapter to the Trump administration’s increasingly cozy relationship with the biggest names in tech. The meeting, first reported by Politico on August 3, comes as Washington scrambles to keep pace with an AI industry that’s moving faster than regulators can type.

Meta’s attendance isn’t a one-off. It’s part of a pattern that’s been building throughout the Trump administration’s engagement with major technology firms.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg was appointed to the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) back in March 2025. He sits alongside Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, meaning two of the most powerful figures in AI development now have a direct line to the Oval Office.

Earlier in 2026, the White House hosted separate meetings focused on energy supply for data centers, bringing together Meta, Google, Microsoft, and Amazon.

The specific agenda for the August 4 meeting hasn’t been disclosed. Neither has the full participant list.
