Robinhood’s blockchain is growing at a pace that would make most Layer-2 networks deeply jealous. Just weeks after its public mainnet went live on July 1, Robinhood Chain has racked up roughly $480 million in total value locked, 1.6 million monthly active users, and daily transaction counts approaching 10 million.
The numbers behind the surge
The TVL growth alone tells a compelling story. Robinhood Chain’s $480 million in locked value represents a roughly 50% increase in just one week, according to data from Token Terminal and CoinMarketCap.
Monthly active users hit 1.6 million, with a week-over-week increase of approximately 60%. Daily transactions are running at about 10 million, with earlier peaks between 8 and 10 million shortly after launch.
Cumulative DEX trading volume on the platform has reached around $8 to $9 billion within those first three weeks, with the bulk of that DEX activity driven by memecoin trading.
Most of the TVL is concentrated in stablecoin deposits flowing into lending protocols like Morpho, with Ethereum and smaller contributions from real-world assets making up the rest.
Why Robinhood Chain matters in the Layer-2 wars
Robinhood Chain is built on the Arbitrum stack, an Ethereum Layer-2 that features 100-millisecond block times and uses ETH as its gas token. The platform brands itself as “AI-native,” with a focus on financial services and the tokenization of real-world assets.
Robinhood has approximately 28 million customers globally. That’s a built-in audience that most crypto-native chains can only dream about. Base, Coinbase’s Layer-2, had a similar structural advantage when it launched, and it became one of the most active chains in the ecosystem.
Robinhood Chain is already eclipsing some well-known networks in daily active users and DEX volume, and at times has surpassed Base itself on those metrics.
The stablecoin signal and what it means for DeFi
Morpho, the lending protocol capturing much of this activity, has been steadily gaining market share across multiple chains. Its presence on Robinhood Chain from the early days gives the network a credible DeFi backbone that goes beyond pure speculation.
The real-world asset angle is still nascent, with RWAs contributing a relatively small portion of TVL so far. Robinhood already operates as a regulated broker-dealer, which could allow it to bridge that regulatory infrastructure into its chain’s RWA strategy.
What this means for investors
Robinhood Chain’s memecoin-heavy DEX volume demonstrates real usage and liquidity. The stablecoin TVL provides a more stable foundation, but $480 million, while impressive for a three-week-old chain, is still modest compared to the multi-billion-dollar TVL figures on established Layer-2s.
With 28 million customers and only 1.6 million monthly active users on the chain, the penetration rate sits at roughly 5.7%.
