What happened
An XRP community member has publicly criticized Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and CTO Emeritus David Schwartz, arguing that the company has prioritized its own business expansion over the interests of long-term XRP holders. The posts, published on X and reported by The Crypto Basic and ZyCrypto, urged the executives to take steps to raise the token's value.
The investor, identified in the ZyCrypto report as Fabrizio Scudu, said the community stood by Ripple through years of negative sentiment, financial uncertainty and a prolonged legal dispute with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. According to the reports, he argued that many holders stayed loyal despite market pressure and negative news, and that some committed personal savings to the asset.
In his message, the investor accused Ripple of directing XRP's economic and technological potential toward RLUSD, the company's dollar-backed stablecoin, and other enterprise initiatives. He contended that Ripple has secured its corporate future while longtime holders remain uncertain about their own financial prospects.
The investor called on Garlinghouse and Schwartz to help XRP reach what he considers its fair market value of $15 to $20 or higher, and to rebuild trust with the community. The Crypto Basic reported similar demands from a user posting as Fiduciary Ledger '17, who made comparable arguments about Ripple's business priorities and the treatment of loyal holders.
