Binance pauses Ethereum deposits for maintenance and sets October 30 delistings

What happened
Binance has scheduled wallet maintenance on the Ethereum network for October 28, 2026, with deposits and withdrawals on that chain suspended from 05:55 UTC. The maintenance itself was set to begin at 06:00 UTC and was expected to take about one hour. Binance said spot trading on the network would not be affected during the window and that transfers would reopen once the network was judged stable, adding that no further announcement would follow.
The exchange also confirmed a batch of spot delistings for October 30, 2026 at 03:00 UTC. Twelve pairs are being removed: AAVE/BTC, ATOM/BTC, CAKE/BTC, DASH/BTC, ETC/BTC, ICP/BTC, PENDLE/BTC, RENDER/BTC, TAO/BTC, THETA/BTC, XAUT/BTC and XTZ/BTC. Binance said the decision followed its regular review of listed pairs, which weighs factors including liquidity and trading volume, and that delisting a pair does not remove the underlying tokens from Binance Spot, since base and quote assets can still be traded against other pairs.
Separately, ten cross-margin pairs will be removed from Binance Margin on the same date at 06:00 UTC: RE/USD1, 币安人生/U, KAT/U, BTC/USDS, ETH/USDS, AVNT/U, FET/U, TRUMP/U, APT/U and WLFI/U. Binance said it will close user positions, carry out an automatic settlement and cancel all pending orders on those pairs before removing them. The process may take around three hours, during which positions cannot be updated, and the exchange advised users to close positions or move assets from margin accounts to spot accounts beforehand.
The same day brought an unrelated addition: Binance said its Cross Margin, Portfolio Margin and Portfolio Margin Pro products began accepting five tokenised stock assets as eligible collateral, Bending Spoons (BSPB), GraniteShares 2x Short SK Hynix ETF (SKDDB), GraniteShares 2x Long SK Hynix ETF (SKUUB), GE Vernova (GEVB) and AppLovin (APPB).
