Use the recorded mempool.space fee recommendations as a reference for Bitcoin transaction costs. Rates are shown in satoshis per virtual byte, written as sat/vB.
From fee rate to transaction fee
Multiply the fee rate by the transaction's virtual size to estimate its fee in satoshis. For example, 10 sat/vB multiplied by 140 vB is 1,400 satoshis, or 0.000014 BTC. The example uses an assumed size; the actual virtual size depends on the transaction's inputs, outputs and script types.
An exchange withdrawal charge can differ from the network fee for an individual transaction. Exchanges can batch payments and set their own charges. Check the fee and transaction preview in the wallet or exchange you are using before sending.
Read the priority references
Higher priority references generally budget more per virtual byte. The minimum relay reference describes a network-policy floor and is not a recommended confirmation tier. Mempool conditions can change between the saved observation and the moment your transaction is broadcast.
The source recommendations cannot guarantee confirmation within a particular number of minutes. A new block, changing demand or a fee-policy difference between nodes can change the outcome. Read the last updated time before using the figures, and refresh your sending wallet's own estimate when you are ready to transact.
Limits of these figures
- The monitor does not broadcast, accelerate or modify transactions.
- A saved rate is a reference estimate rather than a confirmation promise or a wallet-specific fee quote.
