Convert between BTC and sats without losing decimal digits. One bitcoin contains 100 million satoshis.
How the calculation works
Sats = BTC × 100,000,000. BTC = sats ÷ 100,000,000.
Worked example
Example: 0.00001234 BTC equals exactly 1,234 sats. One satoshi is exactly 0.00000001 BTC.
How to use the result
The BTC and satoshi results use exact integer arithmetic. A BTC amount that contains a fraction of one satoshi is rejected rather than silently rounded.
Optional quote value uses an entered price and approximate numeric arithmetic. It is separate from the exact denomination conversion.
What this result leaves out
- Sats here are Bitcoin subunits, separate from any token with SATS as its ticker.
- No market price, wallet balance or network request is used.
