Estimate funding for a stable-quote linear perpetual position. Enter the rate for one settlement and the number of settlements you expect to cross.
How the calculation works
Funding payment = position notional × signed funding rate × direction, where long is +1 and short is -1. Total payment = payment per settlement × event count.
Worked example
Example: a 10,000 notional long at 0.01% funding pays 1 per settlement. Three unchanged settlements cost 3; the same short receives 3.
How to use the result
A positive payment means you pay; a negative payment means you receive. Enter notional exposure rather than initial margin.
Actual funding uses the contract's mark value and rate at settlement. Contract intervals can change, so the tool asks for events rather than assuming an eight-hour schedule.
What this result leaves out
- The rate and notional remain constant in this scenario. Trading fees and P/L are excluded.
- Inverse coin-margined contracts use different position-value arithmetic and are not covered.
